If a patient is missing most or all of their teeth, Dr. Holbrook may recommend dentures. Dentures are removable appliances that replace missing teeth and restore the beauty and functionality of your smile. Our dentist offers complete, partial, and implant-supported dentures.

Complete dentures are used when all of the natural teeth are missing. They are either conventional or immediate. Conventional dentures are made after any remaining teeth have been removed and the gums have had time to heal. Conventional dentures are placed about eight to twelve weeks after the teeth are removed. Immediate dentures are prepared in advance, so they are ready to be placed when the teeth are removed. The gums and jawbone shrink during the healing period, so immediate dentures are usually only used temporarily.

Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw. Removable partial dentures are made of replacement teeth attached to a gum-colored base. This is held in place by a metal framework.

Implant-supported dentures give your dentures more stability and permanence. They feel more like permanent teeth and will not slide in your mouth. The implant posts are surgically placed in your jawbone and the dentures are attached to these implants.
